WHERE IT ALL STARTED

HELLO CALGARY

OUR 2023 SEASON

WELCOME

WE'RE GOING DIGITAL!
COME HANG INSIDE OUR GOLF GAL-FRIENDLY CLUBHOUSE

We’re stoked to launch our new digital community, GOLF & TACOS Social Club, which will provide likeminded golf gals across Canada with a place to meet other golfers at their level in their area. No more feeling intimidated or sitting out because you don’t have someone to golf with. Network, make a friend, find a fourth, or a driving range meet-up. You might just meet your next BFF, coworker, business partner, or in-law! Origin stories of all types have come out of Golf & Tacos events and programs and now we’re making those life changing connections possible from your phone. Come say hello and lock-in our soft launch rate as we work out the kinks and tidy up before our bigger launch on June 9!

In select markets (like Calgary!)
we will be maintaining a physical presence and have partnered with golf facilities and golf professionals who will be running programs throughout the season. Operationally, each facility is an independent partner that will offer similar packages bookable on Showpass (facility links provided below). This shift means our partner facilities have the opportunity to integrate Golf & Tacos into their facility in ways that are more sustainable and seamless for all.

Please ensure you read the event or program description prior to booking as packages vary by facility based on the facility’s unique amenities and rates.

WRAP NIGHTS ARE BACK! Golfers will be coming together at the end of each series for a collective Wrap Night at the end of your series!

Todd Halpen has a degree in Behavioral Psychology from the University of Victoria and has dedicated over 27 years to the game of golf; as a student, a professional player, entrepreneur, and now a teacher. With an extensive competitive, instructional, and business background, Todd has made a name for himself in the golf industry.

What sets Todd apart from other golf instructors is his extensive playing experience and competing in events all over the world; namely the PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour, and international amateur events. He continues to train every day for competitive golf events and competes across Alberta and Canada every year.

Currently, Todd is the Director of Instruction at GOLFUTUREYYC in Calgary, serves on the PGA of Alberta Board of Directors, and was named a Top 3 ‘Teacher of the Year’ Finalist by the PGA of Canada in 2020.

In the rare moments when Todd isn’t helping others fall in love with the game, you can find him chasing powder in the backcountry of the Canadian Rockies.

LOCAL COMMITTEE

CHARLA O'NEILL

COMMITTEE

Charla has played sports her whole life, but it wasn’t until she quit her elementary teacher job in Vancouver and moved to Calgary 8 years ago that she picked up golf. After getting a job in the Oil and Gas industry, she was gifted a set of garage sale clubs (you can’t be in sales and not golf!) and has never looked back! She loves golf for the networking, the time spent outside with friends and clients, the challenge golf offers, and never missing a hot dog on the turn!

JAIDA SHENFIELD

COMMITTEE

Jaida picked up a golf club for the first time in 2012 and, like many recreational golfers, developed a love-hate relationship with the sport. It wasn’t until her first lessons with Golf & Tacos that she quickly became addicted to the game—and to the G&T community.

Born and raised in Calgary, she now works for the city she grew up in, helping to build relationships and connection through Communications.

You’ll often find her on the golf course with her G&T gal pals, dressed up in themed outfits, having a time. Jaida is happiest with a spicy margarita in one hand and a fish taco in the other (hold the cilantro).
