I'M NEW TO GOLF & TACOS, WHERE DO I START?
Unless you’re making some pars and birdies, we recommend you start with a MILD or MEDIUM Multi-Week Group Lesson, and work your way up to HOT and SPICY. These are 5 Nights and most commonly include dinner on the first or second night, 4x75min lessons, and one on-course Wrap Night with dinner on the final evening. Specifics of the packages will vary by location. Read through our Golf Programs page for more recommendations.
DO I NEED CLUBS?
The Multi-Week Group Lessons and Workshops will have a handful of clubs available that are sanitized after each use. Rentals for on-course programs (including the Socials and Wrap Nights) are available to rent at the golf course pro shop at your own expense. Please indicate you need clubs at time of booking–you will be prompted with the question at checkout.
CAN I REGISTER FOR A GROUP LESSON THAT ISN'T MY SPICY LEVEL IF IT'S BETTER FOR MY SCHEDULE?
All our programs are designed to provide skill-appropriate experiences to help you build your confidence. If you want to drop down a level to attend with a friend, or take a class that better suits your schedule that’s cool. But if you’re brand new please start at MILD and work your way up. When coaches have a large variance in skill level, it impacts the content they can cover and pulls them away from the group to spend more time getting golfers up to speed on the basics.
If you need to join a waitlist or request other times, please contact your preferred location to let them know!
WHAT IS THE golf & tacos DIGITAL COMMUNITY?
Golf & Tacos digital community is hosted in an app (a platform called Mighty Networks). Previously this was a subscription program offered complimentary to golfers registered in group lessons. To encourage golfers to stay in the app and use it to connect with other golfers, we are transitioning to a free platform in 2024. Any subscriptions initiated in 2024 will be fully refunded by May 1, 2024.
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND OR CANCELLATION POLICY?
LESSONS:
Golf & Tacos partners with independent golf facilities and their golf professionals to run their own programming. Our partners are responsible for setting their refund policy. This will be listed on their Showpass Organization page.
Partner golf courses and instructors build their rates based on filling spots in their group lessons and it can be difficult to fill a spot in the last minute. If there’s a waitlist for your program and they accept, we’re happy to offer a partial refund (less processing fees).
Golf & Tacos do not offer refunds for individually missed dates or late cancelled programs. Please review all dates in the event page and ensure you can attend prior to booking. If you can’t attend a date but want to take the class, that’s up to you. We make our best effort to offer a make-up lesson at the end of the season for those participants who missed a lesson due to a medical or emergency reason and made an effort to let us know in advance. It is up to the participant to make the make-up date work. We will accept transfers BEFORE the start of your program. No transfers during multi-week programs will be accepted once the program starts as the coach needs to spend time away from the group to get a new golfer up to speed.
Often coaches will accept refunds up to 10 days before the program. Please see specific refund policy when booking.
COMMUNI-TEE TIMES:
Golfers that no show will be billed for the cost of your tee time. Late Cancellations policies are specific to the golf facility hosting the times.
ARE THERE ALWAYS TACOS?
Quick answer, no.
Long answer, sometimes golf courses don’t have tacos on the menu and aren’t able to have them available for a small group request. In cases where we can cater, we do. If we can’t, your package will come with a gift card to eat at the restaurant of the golf course where your program is hosted and you can order the item that you like! We understand that can be misleading (we didn’t think that through when we picked the name back in 2016) but we do our absolute best to try to make sure tacos are available!
As well, your package includes tacos typically on “Welcome Night” or “Night 2″ which is meant to be an ice breaker to help your group bond. You’ll also eat together at ‘Wrap Night” (the final on-course night). For those looking to chow down with your pals before or after all your lessons, you are welcome to head to the restaurant or patio of the golf facility or support a local restaurant with your group. Your ambassador can help you coordinate at the first session.
CAN I SIGN-UP WITH A FRIEND?
We love when friends attend together and Showpass will allow you to register for a Guest (two spots) when you checkout. However, you’ll need to be able to fill out the following information for your guest:
- First & Last Name
- Phone
- Rental Clubs? (RH/LH)
- Dietary Restrictions
- Verify they can attend all dates (refunds won’t be offered for missed nights)
