Golf & Tacos Calgary presents…the inaugural GOLF GAL CLASSIC!
It’s been a crazy year and a half, and now it’s time to spice up your golf life and channel some serious Hot Golf Summer energy for an epic day on the golf course.
Our Calgary gals know how to get it done and we couldn’t imagine dropping our first-ever golf tournament anywhere other than our OG community. It doesn’t matter if you’re the Queen of Calgary’s corporate golf scene or this is your first golf tournament, this is day is all about bringing together 120 golf gals who make this community pure magic. Think Wrap Night, but bigger… Don’t be shy, we got you. (Need an excuse to get you out of work, we can help with that too). This day is for the ladies who have made Golf & Tacos possible since day 1, the ones who just joined us this season, and the ones who have been waiting for us to drop a day like this for a while!

This is an on-course golf experience for golfers comfortable playing a standard length 18-hole golf course. Heads-up beginners, this is not a golf lesson.

IS THE GOLF GAL CLASSIC A COMPETITIVE TOURAMENT?
That depends. Do you regularly keep score and care about winning?
If yes: Register with golfers who care about winning and play your heart out. There will be prizes for skill and best score.
If No: Don’t register with golfers who care about winning. There will be prizes for contests requiring zero golf skill.
WHAT IS THE TOURNAMENT FORMAT?
The tournament will be run as a shotgun start at 2:00 p.m. MST. The format will be a Stableford Scramble.
DO I NEED A HANDICAP?
Whoa, okay chill girl. Most Golf & Tacos gals can’t even remember how many shots it took them to get to the green let alone track their handicap. If you’re spicy and you have one, amazing, but for the Golf Gal Classic we’ll use our spicy levels to determine relative scores (MILD, MEDIUM, HOT, SPICY).
IF MY FRIEND AND I SIGN UP AS A SINGLES CAN WE BE PAIRED TOGETHER?
Yes, Golf & Tacos will accept requests to play with ONE other golfer, however, trios are not guaranteed to be paired together. We recommend grabbing a foursome to guarantee your group of 3 or 4 together.
WHAT’S INCLUDED?
18 holes at Inglewood Golf & Curling Club, a lunch to-go box, happy hour beverage and chips + salsa, buffet dinner, tee gift, prizes. Additional alcohol and snacks available for purchase. Most dietary restrictions and allergies can be accommodated.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Your best attitude! And plenty of balls, tees, and your favourite golf essentials: clubs, ball markers, glove. Did we mention bring lots of balls?
DO I NEED CLUBS?
Yes, all golfers need their own set of clubs. If you need to rent you can do so at the golf course.
CAN MY CAR HAVE A SLEEPOVER AT THE GOLF COURSE?
Yes. Golf & Tacos urges all golfers to plan for a safe ride home if you will be consuming liquor onsite at Inglewood Golf & Curling Club. If you choose to leave your car in the lot, it will not be towed but we ask that you remove your car from the lot by 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27. Remove all valuables! Inglewood Golf & Curling Club and Golf & Tacos are not responsible for stolen property.
WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE IT? CAN I GET A REFUND?
No. As standard with any golf tournament, all sales are final. If you are unable to play, you are responsible for finding an alternate to take your spot and handle all payment transfers. Substitutions/alternates will be accepted up to 3 days in advance. Rosters will be locked at this time.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Don’t be fooled by the name, the Golf Gal Classic is a fun tournament designed to help the Golf & Tacos community learn about the world of tournament golf, but the day will be anything but old and stuffy. Golfers are welcome to dress in a theme or wear matching outfits but must do so in a tasteful manner. Elaborate costumes and any weapon-like props will not be allowed onsite. No offensive attire will be tolerated, including explicit language or imagery that is racist, homophobic, or vulgar.
CAN WE PLAY MUSIC WHILE WE GOLF?
Hell yes. Bring your portable bluetooth speakers and pick a playlist to hype up your crew. Just check your volume, the other groups are listening to their own music too.
CAN I BRING MY OWN BOOZE?
No outside alcohol is permitted on the premises. All liquor must be purchased through Inglewood Golf & Country Club. This will be enforced by Inglewood Golf & Curling Club staff. Any outside liquor found will be confiscated and violators may be asked to leave the tournament.
THE GOLDEN RULE
Treat everyone with the same level of enthusiasm as if you were meeting at 1:00AM in the bar bathroom. (Air) High-fives and ‘You Go Girls’ strongly encouraged. No mulligans on this one. No mean girl sh*t. Everyone is your new best golf pal at Golf & Tacos.
RESPECT
As guests of Inglewood Golf & Curling Club, all golfers are expected to care for the golf course and treat all staff members with respect. Abuse towards staff will not be tolerated. Golfers will be held responsible for property damage (no, divots don’t count, but you should fix them and you can learn how to do that here).
