WHAT GOLF DREAMS ARE MADE OF

HELLO OKANAGAN

OUR 2023 SEASON

WELCOME

WE'RE GOING DIGITAL!
COME HANG INSIDE OUR GOLF GAL-FRIENDLY CLUBHOUSE

We’re stoked to launch our new digital community, GOLF & TACOS Social Club, which will provide likeminded golf gals across Canada with a place to meet other golfers in at their level in their area. No more feeling intimidated or sitting out because you don’t have someone to golf with. Network, make a friend, find a fourth, or a range meet-up. You might just meet your next BFF, coworker, business partner, or in-law! Origin stories of all types have come out of Golf & Tacos events and programs and now we’re making those life changing connections possible from your phone. Come say hello and lock-in our soft launch rate as we work out the kinks and tidy up before our bigger launch on June 9!

In select markets (like West Kelowna!)
we will be maintaining a physical presence and have partnered with golf facilities and golf professionals who will be running programs throughout the season. Operationally, each facility is an independent partner that will offer similar packages bookable on Showpass (facility links provided below). This shift means our partner facilities have the opportunity to integrate Golf & Tacos into their facility in ways that are more sustainable and seamless for all.

Please ensure you read the event or program description prior to booking as packages vary by facility based on the facility’s unique amenities and rates.

WRAP NIGHTS ARE BACK! Golfers will be coming together at the end of each series for a collective Wrap Nights!

2022 SOCIAL COMMITTEE

BRITT

OKANAGAN LEAD

Brittney works in fin-tech sales with JP Morgan Chase out of Kelowna, BC. She is an Eastern Washington University Alumni where she played division 1 NCAA volleyball.  Brittney had an extensive 10 year professional volleyball career with Team Canada and professional clubs in Europe and Asia. A highlight for Brittney was being named Captain of Team Canada from 2012-2016.

Upon retiring from sport, she returned to the Okanagan in 2017 where she took up golf, first to pass the time, only to discover a love for the game. She also immersed herself in the community by volunteering with various non profits and co-founding her own paddleboard fundraiser, “Stand Up For”.  Community involvement is a passion for Brittney and to pair it with sport made Golf & Tacos a natural fit.  As Chapter Lead, Brittney brings her community focus, talent for event management and understanding of women in sport to Golf & Tacos Okanagan.

In her spare time you can find Brittney embracing the Okanagan lifestyle through hiking, paddleboarding and enjoying the local wineries

CHRISTIE

SPECIAL EVENTS

Christie is a born and raised Okanagan girl. True to form, she grew up spending her summers on the lake, camping, and playing rep softball. After highschool, Christie moved to Calgary where completed her post secondary education. She ultimately seized an incredible opportunity to move abroad where she embraced her love for travel. She resided primarily in Holland and Sweden, but her favorite memories involve hopping on trains to explore new cities as often as she could. Christie returned to her Okanagan roots in 2017.  She now works for a private periodontal surgeon in Kelowna, BC.

Outside of work Christie never shies away from a day on the golf course, being on the water or planning social events.  Executing intimate gatherings such as birthdays, baby showers, engagement parties, and family holidays is a talent and passion for Christie. The joy it brings to those around her is what motivates her to curate a thoughtful, memorable experience.  Her attention to detail, efficient nature and passion for an active lifestyle make her the perfect fit for the Events Committee with Golf & Tacos Okanagan.

ALEXA

SPECIAL EVENTS

Alexa works as a Controller for a Development Group out of Kelowna, BC. She is a University of Alberta Alumni; she received her Bachelor of Commerce and Arts Degree during her time there.  Alexa has always played sports, mostly recreationally, and has casually played golf since she was a kid, going to the range with her dad and brother. Prior to moving to Kelowna in 2020, Alexa was in Australia where she worked at an International Accounting Firm and was a consultant for a global Insurance Company merger.

When the Golf Courses aren’t open, Alexa is involved with Autism Okanagan’s Ice Hockey Program and spends as much time at Big White Ski Resort as possible.

Alexa started as a ‘student’ in the Okanagan’s Golf & Taco’s chapter in the 2021 season, completing three rounds of lessons and attending Hot Summer Nights events. Alexa jumped at the opportunity to become a part of the committee based on her passion for getting females involved in Golf, and the fact that she met some incredible women through the program.
