Great snacks are essential for a great round of golf but if you have food sensitivities, are plant-based or vegan, it can be hard to find options at the snack shack.

And unless you want to pay a hefty green fee at the Fairmont Banff Springs to get a Beyond Meat Bratwurst, here are four great golf snacks that you can pack for your next round:

Easy and convenient, especially when you have an 8 am tee time and need to grab something quick. My favourite vegan protein bars are the ‘Vega Sport Protein Bar’ in the chocolate mint flavour. They’re packed with 20g of plant-based protein and enough carbs to keep you full and satisfied while you’re out there burning energy on the course.

(Golf & Tacos pro tip: If It’s a hot day and you’re using a cart, toss your protein bar in the mini ice cooler to avoid opening your bar to a melted chocolatey mess!)

You may never drive, chip, or putt like Tiger, but, you can snack like him! According to GOLF.COM, Tiger Woods’ on-course fuel of choice is a crunchy peanut butter and banana sandwich (yum). It’s super easy to prep and also happens to be vegan. Pack an extra sandwich for your cart partner and I’m confident no one will remember that swing-and-miss on the last hole!

Energy balls are a favourite of mine on and off the course. They’re easy to make and so yummy! Plus you can customize them however you like. Give this 5-Ingredient Peanut Buttercup Energy Bites recipe from Minimalist Baker a try next time you hit the links!

Sometimes I’m skeptical about meat replacements but I recently tried vegan beef jerky by the brand ‘Noble Jerky’ and holy moly, this stuff is good! So tasty and sure to impress your friends (if you’re willing to share).

I hope this gives you some easy golf course snack inspo, I should add that all of these snacks pair great with a margarita and of course, make sure to save room for some post-round tacos!
